Hi, I’m Tom, the native-speaking teacher at the Pest location of BeHappy.
Originally from Montreal, Canada, I’ve been working at the school for several years now, and although I’m not new to teaching Hungarian students, it still seems to me that every day I learn something new about this fascinating country. Without a doubt, teaching is the best way to get insight into a different culture: in addition to helping people improve their command of a second (or third or fourth) language, you pick up, in the process, a wealth of knowledge. I’m very grateful for this opportunity.
Hungarian students are serious about learning and always ready for a challenge. They are demanding and definitely keep you on your toes. But the best thing about BeHappy is that the sense of fun is never lost: students are here to learn, but learning doesn’t become a chore.
Choosing to live in Budapest was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. The city just has an inexhaustible variety. I’m happy that my education and your education can be a mutual, and exciting, exchange.
